Our Wants
We are looking for creative stories, poems or limericks. They can be true or fabricated. We would like them to reflect an experience or a feeling you had at the Daily Grind... embellishments are welcome. Fabrications happily accepted if they hold the tiniest bit of truth or at least mention the Daily Grind. Witty, wacky, irreverent, (whatever!) hilarious, insightful or just feel good words. We will consider it all.

We have an artist/cartoonist who wants to contribute his work to our book. So your stories could be enhanced by a professional artist.

Our Rules
There really are no rules. Your submission can be as long as you want (keeping in mind it is a story not a novel). So a paragraph would be fine or something in the realm of a short short story. You can write a poem, a limerick, a quickie. It can be humorous or serious. A reflection of a feeling you had at the Grind (you know some say that the original side of the Grind is visited periodically by a friendly prankster ghost.. did you ever get that feeling)?

Our Goal
We would like to have the Daily Grind Chronicles written by our wonderfully creative customers. Those that know and love us. This book will be sold in the Daily Grind and all proceeds will be given to the Batten Disease Support and Research Assoc. Being optimistic we would like to think that this book will be ready for publication and sale by Xmas 2002. But being realistic we hope to have it completed by graduation 2003. The sooner we read your literary adventure the quicker we can accomplish our goals.

Monetary Rewards
Entries will be worth a free drink but no pay will be involved. You will be required to sign a release that states we can publish your story in our little book. Your reward will be seeing your name in print (it could be the start of a great career).

Submissions
Please proudly submit your creative endeavor to any Daily Grind location. In exchange you will receive your certificate for a free drink. Your work must be typed. Please include your name, address, phone number and email address. Please include this release form with your submission. We will contact you if your work has been accepted for our Chronicles. This may take awhile since we need to get them all in before we can make our final decisions and we consider ourselves organized but at times we are also delusional.
